I Love South Side

*mission & vision*

Mission & Vision:

I Love South Side is the outreach ministry of Living Stones Church. Our goal is to have a positive impact on

our south side neighborhood by demonstrating the love of Jesus in tangible ways. We want to make the gospel come to life through our compassion and grace; showing radical hospitality to our neighbors.

Micah 6:8 – Act Justly, Love Mercy, Walk Humbly

I Love South Side ministry exists to shine Christ's light and love into a world that seems dark to many of our

neighbors. We believe in the tenacity of tenderness within the context of one-on-one relationships, coupled

with humble acts of service, as a means of bringing kindness and hope; transforming lives on the south side.

I LOVE SOUTH SIDE Core Values:

We believe God loves the south side neighborhood we serve and is already at work here. We look for ways we can join in those efforts. We believe each neighbor is created in the image of God. As a result, we recognize and respect their unique gifts and perspectives. We strive to make strangers into neighbors and neighbors into family. Seeking to build intentional relationships of trust through:

Service: Sponsoring events to address specific needs; may also include random acts of kindness to support and encourage primarily our neighbors who:

● Work or attend classes at Monroe School or Riley High School

● Are seniors, disabled or marginalized living on the south side

Collaboration: Shining a spotlight on assets in our neighborhood

● Sharing knowledge of available services

● Making appropriate referrals

● Replenishing resources to support continuity of care

Advocacy: Standing up for marginalized neighbors who feel threatened or exploited

● Inviting neighbors to come together to discuss topics of importance

● Meeting with local officials to strengthen the voice of the voiceless

● Exploring ways to help equalize the playing field for our neighbors in need

Hospitality: Offering open access to LSC facilities and grounds to the people in our neighborhood

● Providing space for classes or community groups to meet
