I love south side

I LOVE SOUTH SIDE began as an outreach of Living Stones Church, our goal being to serve the very neighborhood we reside in ... to show the love of Jesus in tangible, no-strings-attached ways.

I LOVE SOUTH SIDE is as much a way of life as it is a vehicle for serving our neighbors.

I LOVE SOUTH SIDE:

  • it's about south side community and pride.
  • it's about serving each other with no strings attached.
  • it's about being a good neighbor.
  • it's about saying: You matter. You're loved.

    check out the video here!

We hosted our first READY. SET. SCHOOL! in August last year! Students from Riley, Marshall and Monroe received free hair cuts, senior photos, and uniforms as well as vision screening, band/orchestra instrument assistance, and free books.  Parents were resourced with info on sports physicals, immunizations, and dental care.  Teachers received free school supplies. Plus there games, bounce houses, food, a live DJ, face painting, and kona-ice! Plans are already in the works to make this years event bigger and better! Our mission is to help every student get to the starting line and begin school feeling good about themselves! Contact Angie if you'd like more info or have something to offer for this year's event!

  • Ready. set. school! 2018

Mark your calendars now for Saturday, July 28th, 10am-2pm, because we’re already gearing up for another awesome READY. SET. SCHOOL!! READY. SET. SCHOOL! is an LSC I Love South Side event meant to connect students/parents living in our neighborhood and attending SBCSC schools with the right tools and resources they need to start back-2-school on the right foot! Many more details coming soon.  But in the meantime, here’s a couple things we’re asking of you:

    • Make a commitment to this date on your family calendar as we’ll need many volunteers to pull this off .  Sign-ups for specific volunteer needs coming next month.

    • Throughout the summer we’re collecting donations of gently used uniforms for middle and high school students.  If you’re a garage sale/thrift store shopper, be on the look-out.  Or donate uniforms your kids have outgrown. We’re collecting the following items in sizes for students who are 5th grade and older (think kids sizes 10/12 and larger and adult sizes - we do not need smaller children's sizes) ...   * Polo and button-down collared shirts in light blue, navy blue, royal blue, yellow/gold, black, white and 8 gray. Small insignias ok, less than 1".   * Uniform pants, shorts or skirts in navy, black or khaki.   You can bring items to donate on Sundays all summer, through the end of July.

    • Your monetary donations (above and beyond your weekly giving) will greatly impact this event!  Donations can be made HERE. We promise to stretch each dollar as much as we can to make the biggest impact on this event and those in attendance.
